Who Mo is, who he isn't, and how to use this site responsibly.

Edition 1.0 Effective  Calgary AB

Mo is not a CPA

Mo Kechout, who writes everything published here, is not a Chartered Professional Accountant. He's a Calgary-based independent creator who builds Canadian personal-finance tools and writes about how the rules actually work. The website, the calculators, the YouTube channel: all of it is his independent work, not the output of an accounting practice.

No advisory relationship

Reading the site, signing up for the email list, or running a calculation doesn't make Mo your tax advisor, accountant, or financial planner. Nothing here is personalised advice for your situation. If you need someone to actually look at your numbers and tell you what to do, hire a CPA or a qualified financial planner, and feel free to bring our calculator output along.

Cross-check everything

Every tax figure we publish is sourced from the Canada Revenue Agency and dated. CRA rules change. Software has bugs. We make mistakes. So verify anything that matters (a contribution limit, a marginal rate, a credit amount) directly with the CRA, a CPA, or a qualified financial planner before you act on it.

If you spot something wrong on this site, tell us. We'll fix it and note the correction.

Affiliate links

As of today, we have none. There are no affiliate links anywhere on hudsonbayfinance.ca.

When the blog launches and a post does include an affiliate link, we'll flag it inline on that post and in a disclosure block at the bottom. We won't hide it inside body copy.

Third-party links

When we link out to another site (the CRA, a bank, a tool we use ourselves), that's a pointer, not an endorsement. We don't control what those sites do with your data, what they put on your screen, or whether they change tomorrow.
